The GSA Students' Association stand in solidarity with all those affected by City Property's unsustainable rent hikes at Trongate 103.
Our students have found a home there for over 16 years, so a failure to provide tenants with a viable lease by this coming Friday (March 27th) would cause devastation.
The space has provided opportunities for students to take their first steps in Glasgow's art world, a place to establish themselves as an independent artist, and it has been an ongoing beacon of hope that our city is, and will continue to be, a hotbed of culture.
Some students have come to to Glasgow due to its worldwide artistic reputation; others have been brought up in the city, surrounded by its vibrancy. This reputation is one of Glasgow's greatest qualities, and we should be striving to rebuild it rather than eroding it any further.
That is why we urge you to sign the petition to Save Trongate 103 from closure.
There is also a Community Protest on Friday March 27th from 12pm - 2pm at 229 George Street, Glasgow.
Please follow Glasgow Culture Conditions (@cultureconditions) on Instagram for updates on the resistance from Glasgow's creatives.
